In this new role, Ayaz will lead the company’s core branding, which includes internal and external branding, partnerships and social media presence, according to the company.
He will lead brand strategy across corporate entities and prioritize Disney’s franchises in collaboration with Iger. He will also lead global consumer research.
Ayaz has held marketing roles at Disney for the past 18 years, most recently as president of marketing for Walt Disney Studios. Ayaz will continue to oversee marketing for the company’s studio content, including films and series from Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Studios, as well as Disney+.
