As Tim Nudd, Ad Age’s creativity editor, noted on Thursday, Good Humor introduced the first ice cream truck more than a century ago. To celebrate keeping neighborhood ice cream trucks on the road this summer, Jiffy Lube locations are hosting ice cream socials where customers can get free Good Humor ice cream and participate in giveaways. The collaboration is the first of many initiatives through Good Humor’s “Neighborhood Joy” campaign to support the ice cream vendor community.

Spark Foundry names chief growth officer

Spark Foundry has hired Valerie Bernstein as chief growth officer to lead business development and growth for the Publicis media agency. Bernstein will be based in the agency’s New York office and report to CEO Sarah Kramer. 

Bernstein joins Spark Foundry from Advantage Unified Commerce, where she had worked for nearly 20 years, most recently as the exec VP of business development and marketing. During her tenure, Bernstein worked with marketers such as Anheuser-Busch InBev, Bayer, L’Oréal, Panera and Unilever. Her last two years at Advantage Unified Commerce were spent merging five agencies under one umbrella: Amazon specialists Beekeeper Marketing and eShopportunity, e-commerce solution provider Sage Tree and shopper agencies IN Connected and Edge Agency.

Havas has acquired Mumbai, India-based digital marketing and communications agency PivotRoots, which specializes in brand and performance marketing, UI/UX, digital content creation, and marketing technology services. 

WPP launched a new campus in Manchester, England meant to house 550 employees from agencies in the area, such as EssenceMediacom, Cheetham Bell, Code Computerlove, Wavemaker, Cloud Commerce Group, Kinetic, Ogilvy Health, and VMLY&R Health. The new space is 67,000 square feet across eight floors.

Hero Digital has appointed Katie Comerford as its new executive VP of marketing and media services. The role was previously held by Kevin Hanley, who departed the agency last year. Comerford previously spent a decade with Horizon Media, holding various roles including VP of digital. She most recently served as the executive VP of digital at Horizon Next.

Omnicom has acquired German agency Grabarz & Partner. The agency has 260 employees and services clients such as Deutsche Bahn, Ikea, Lidl and Porsche.
