Jameson picks Ogilvy as lead creative agency

Jameson Irish Whiskey has appointed Ogilvy as its new global creative agency following a competitive review handled by R3. TBWA previously held the account for 20 years.

“Creatively and strategically, Ogilvy impressed the team over the course of a rigorous pitch process, pairing a global outlook with local cultural relevance in our key markets, and we’re very excited to begin working together,” Brendan Buckley, global marketing director at Irish Distillers said in a statement. “I would also like to sincerely thank TBWA globally, and most recently TBWA Dublin, for their valued creative contribution to the Jameson brand over many years.”

The appointment is an extension of Ogilvy’s remit with Jameson’s parent company, Pernod Ricard. Ogilvy also handles creative for Absolut and Pernod Ricard USA’s tequila and Mezcal brands.

Just briefly

Brewing company Carlsberg Group appointed Dentsu’s iProspect as its new global media agency of record following a competitive review. The account was previously handled by IPG’s Initiative.

PureRed named Heather Collins its first chief client officer. Collins most recently led Publicis One’s team across Arc Worldwide, Epsilon and Hawkeye, serving as executive VP of business leadership for Unilever.

Innocean USA has been named media agency of record for Korean Air. Innocean USA is charged with increasing travel to Korea as Korean culture has risen in popularity in the United States and as eased COVID-19 restrictions have boosted air travel.

Jennifer Richman joins Imre as its first executive VP of client operations. Richman was most recently at McCann Health New York, where she was an executive VP and led more than 50 team members. 

PR agency Hill+Knowlton appointed Craig Buchholz as its new U.S. CEO. Buchholz previously served as the head of communications of General Motors. He takes over for Richard Millar, who will retain his role as global president and will return to the U.K.

Packaged food marketer Bob Evans Farms appointed Venables Bell + Partners as its creative and strategic agency of record. It’s unclear what agency previously held the account.
